Profile
I have worked in several companies and I have seen different means of plastic moulding. With a general scientific training acquired at the University and technical skills on plastic moulding, I can adapt to many problems concerning production or research and development in order to solve them. Moreover, I am actively interested in the application of computer technology.
I am able to set a machine (injection press, extruder), to carry out a lot of tests in laboratory (non-destructive testing methods, tensile tests, chemical tests…), draw up a report and write advanced software.
Education
|
Baccalauréat E |
1991 |
This examination is the equivalent to British ‘A’ Levels with special emphasis in Maths & Technology. |
|
University of Nantes |
1991-1993 |
DUT - Diploma gained after two-year study in materials (plastics, composites, steel…) at the Nantes Polytechnics. |
|
University of Metz |
1993-1994 |
Complementary year for further study of composite materials. |
|
I.S.P.A. (Plastic Institute) |
1995-1998 |
Studying for an engineering degree in plastics processing at I.S.P.A. (Leading French Institute of Alençon in Plastic Processes). At the moment in last year. |
Professional Training
|
1993 |
2 months in the Nantes Office Commerce and Industry with the objective of meeting people from materials industry (plastics, composites, steel…) to ascertain how they chose a particular material for a new component. Subsequently I wrote a report defining these methodologies. |
|
1994 |
4 months in DCN (French military shipbuilding), working on the composite materials section for the EUCLID project (European Co-operation for the Long time In Defence). I was personally involved in building a sandwich panel and carrying out mechanical and physico-chemical tests. |
|
1996 |
1 month in TdP (plastic factory – subsidiary of Sermo Industries, the leading mould-maker in France). By using their own specialist equipment, they are able to refine machines and moulds to match customers’ specific requirements, by carrying out a pre-production run. After two weeks as a machine operator, I was asked by the Production Manager to prepare an efficiency report on the waste of time during mould changing process. |
|
1996 |
Numerous weekends integrated in working teams as an operator in the companies Appli’Plast and Alençon Plastic (injection mainly for subcontracting). |
|
1997 |
Frequent weekends integrated in working teams as a production line supervising agent at MPO (injection manufacturing compact discs, CD-ROM and videodiscs). |
|
1997 |
5 months in BP Chemicals Lavéra (France) studying the blown film fabrication. Firstly, I found a correlation between an industrial extruder and a laboratory extruder thanks to an analysis of the optical and mechanical properties. The polymers selected for this study were two BP LLDPE. Secondly, I adjusted parameters for a new dual lip air ring trying to find the same properties as the ones found for the old air ring. |
